Feb 14 Sunday: Birth
I was born at 5:00 pm at 79/1 Amherst Street, Calcutta-9 of Dr Kanak Chandra and
Sm Sabita Sarbadhikari. My maternal uncle (Mama) reportedly fired in the sky
from father's double-barrel BSA gun to celebrate. Bengfal was passing through a
bad famine. There were refugees on the streets begging for 'phan' - the
throwaway water that remains after boiling rice.
